Obviously when ill employees come to work and get exposed to food, clean equipment, utensils, linens or unwrapped single-use utensils.
Symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, runny nose, discharges from the eyes, nose and mouth would cause poor personal hygience.
Zipei: you may also include self practices in personal hygiene of skin. eg. Wounds should be fully covered with detectable waterproof plasters (green or blue) immediately to prevent it from being infected. Personal hygiene of hands.
ReplyDeleteyuan ling: symptoms like coughing... ...cause poor personal hygiene? should be contamination, if particles get into our food. Therfore, we should never prepare food if we are not feeling well or wear a mouth mask.
ReplyDeleteLi Yee: self-practices does not only refer to sick employees going to work. It can also include practices like for example, glove should be worn while preparing salads and cutting cooked food. Keeping the work area clean, "clean as you go", and etc.
ReplyDeleteDaniel:
ReplyDeleteSince this is a informative blog, the information given on this post is too brief. There are so much more things to mention on self-practices like wearing hairnet, keeping finger nails short, washing of hands before and after handling food etc
Jia Min: i'll just comment here. not too keen to comment on every single post. this blog contains interesting information, especially for the videos, though the two video content are similar...
ReplyDeleteErika: Should include things like wearing a mask when feeling unwell to prevent food contamination.
ReplyDeleteNadira : I agree with daniel and liyee. The self-practice is too brief and can be elaborated more. Actually ill employees should not be advised to come to work at all and take MC, to prevent the disease from spreading to other workers and also contaminate the food.
ReplyDeleteRapika: Couldve been better, you can try elaborate on how to control situations like these. And possible a preventive methods as well.
